If you want to spice up your back patio or have a seating area to sit outside, this DIY outdoor dining table by Shanty2Chic cost only $60 to make. There is a free plan to download and print out that has all of the written instructions and steps. This woodworking craft only requires a few tools, and it’s a cool design to put outside. A lot of outdoor furniture is expensive, so if you’re on a budget, try to make this yourself. I need to make this table because I have a deck in my backyard that has nothing on it. It would be great to take a boring empty space into a space that my family and friends can gather. There are only 17 studs, a couple of tools, and a few hours of work later for this finished product. This DIY can be done alone, but it would be kind to have another helping hand to speed up the process. I cognize most people rather buy their outdoor furniture because it can take a lot of work. However, this is one of those woodworking projects that have all of the steps already written out to mak things easier.
- 17 2x4s
- 2 1/2″ pocket hole screws
- 2 1/2″ spax screws
- wood glue
- miter saw
- Kreg jig
First, add pocket holes down on 9 of the 10 top boards. Add them on one long side that’s going to be the underside of the tabletop. Continue to watch Shanty2Chic tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.
Next, after the tabletop is finished, work on the base. Use the longer 2x4s, spax screws, and wood glue to attach the vertical boards.
Overall, I wouldn’t mind making this outdoor dining table. I honestly would prefer this inside of my house as a side entry table. It’s very rustic and farmhouse, which I like a lot.
